Program Guide | 100 Hours of Healing

Annual Fundraiser!

Welcome to 100 Hours of Healing 2022!  This ongoing fundraiser launches each year on our birthday (Veterans’ Day) and continues through to the end of the year.  We are looking for new friends to support and empower our charitable mission:  fostering healing into wholeness through community, education, and treatments.

Whole Self Unity – What we DO

As a 501C3 nonprofit organization we rely on the support from our community to help adults in need.  Our focus is to allow access to integrative therapies as an additional to traditional medical care (meditation, yoga, Reiki, nutrition, and coaching).  Currently, we are raising money to provide free or low cost classes to veterans/military, first responders, educators, healthcare workers, disaster victims, and elders.  Please feel free to donate at any time–welcome to our community.

Join Us – We Need YOU

The primary goal of this year’s 100 Hours of Healing event is to make 100 new friends.  We are offering a full integrative healing conference online–no geographic or scheduling barriers.  Access content from your own space in your own time.  These offerings are gifts in exchange for your charitable donation of just $5.  The market value of these healing talks, demonstrations, meditations, and exercises would drive a retail price of $20-100 a session. We are offering these gifts as part of our service to the community.  We don’t want to price to stop anyone from connecting with us.

FREE Offerings for ALL

In fact, if you are not in a position to donate at this time, we want you to join the community anyway.  Follow this link to register for a FREE guided meditation Grounding: Feeling Present to Feel Better. All are welcome here, and we are so excited to have you join us!

In addition, some FREE content will be offered LIVE on our Facebook Page.  The program below lists all events according to the times they were promoted on Facebook.  However, each presentation is available whenever and wherever you like.  As the event continues, the program below will be updated with those offerings as well.  Happy birthday!

Influences of Food Choices – Moana Schwertsik  Health and wellness are two of the hottest buzz words in the nutrition industry. But what do those terms really mean and how do they relate to each other? There are numerous things that influence where a person lies on the spectrum of health, ranging from pathology to a state of optimal well-being.   One of the biggest components of a healthy lifestyle is nutrition. Just like a person’s overall state of health and wellness, food choices are greatly influenced by the world around us.  We will learn how to choose foods which will support out health and wellbeing.  It is time to make smart choices with our food and I will get you started on that path.

Crystal Empowerment – Amy Alward, offers a quick talk about the properties of crystals that make them ideal for computing AND for energy healing.  This talk also includes some tips for success if you want to use crystals to aid your healing–including how to cleanse and charge your crystals and pitfalls to avoid that can slow or set back healing progress.  This presentation includes a 20-minute guided meditation for healing the earth, your crystals, and how to empower your rock friends to aid your journey.

Hydration – Moana Schwertsik  Water constitutes a greater percentage of body mass than any other substance. It helps fill the spaces inside the cells, outside of the cells, and in all major vessels.  All the cells in our bodies contain and are surrounded by water, so having the right balance is very important. Adults can survive several weeks without food, but only a few days without water, because we cannot store water like we can store food.

Finding Your Life’s Purpose – Tracey Payton, we will walk you though an exercise on finding your life purpose, vision, mission statement.  Using simple fill-in-the-blank tool and a powerful guided meditation, by the end of this presentation you will have a complete reflection to help guide you to the next direction you desire.

Body Care Products And How They Affect Us

Body Care Products And How They Affect Us

Did you know that on average, women use 12 body care products a day, exposing themselves to 168 chemical ingredients? Men use six, exposing themselves to 85 unique chemicals?

Personal care products are largely unregulated. The law does not require cosmetic products and ingredients to have FDA approval before they go to the market.

The federal law designed to ensure that personal care products are safe has remained largely unchanged since 1938.

According to the FDA cosmetics are defined by their intended use, as “articles intended to be rubbed, poured, sprinkled, or sprayed on, introduced into, or otherwise applied to the human body…for cleansing, beautifying, promoting attractiveness, or altering the appearance” (FD&C Act, sec. 201(i)).  Among the products included in this definition are skin moisturizers, perfumes, lipsticks, fingernail polishes, eye and facial makeup, cleansing shampoos, permanent waves, hair colors, and deodorants, as well as any substance intended for use as a component of a cosmetic product.  It does not include soap. (To learn what products are considered “soap” for regulatory purposes, see “Soap.”

Personal care products, called “cosmetics” in the law, are much more than makeup and fragrance. They include lotion, toothpaste, body wash, shampoo, deodorant and many other products that people use daily.

It’s no wonder some of us have strange reactions to different products that we apply regularly.  And remember that the skin is our largest organ.  Anything that goes on the skin will get through the pores into our system, which means our body is constantly in detox mode.

Here is how I improved my self care routine.

My personal experience came with age.  My skin was becoming more sensitive and I was having itching and burning reactions to the products I was using.  One day I had had enough and took a closer look at the ingredients and process used to make these products.  As mentioned above I was surprised at what I found.  How can I support my body and care for myself better?

I started researching how to make my own products and began the process of eliminating some of the chemical laden products from my shelf by making my own.  At first it seemed quite intimidating but as I tried my way through a few recipes.  I learned it’s not that complicated. First came a few easy things like lip balm, toothpaste, and then a deodorant.  Later on  I tackled some face cream, shampoo, and conditioner.

After learning some of the basics I was starting to enjoy the process of finding the ingredients and then making my own products.  This is where I realized this is part of my self care routine.    It feels really great to nourish my skin instead of hurting it.  And remember it’s not just your skin, but your whole body that you are nurturing.

In no way am I suggesting you go home and throw all your products away. Instead  just as you finish one up, maybe do some research and find a better product, or make you own. It is not as hard as most people think.

And just think how much healthier and happier you and your environment will be. Making your own products with simple ingredients which mother earth provides for us. This definitely should be considered self care.

Tools Day | Homemade Toothpaste Made Easy

Today I want to invite you to try a non-toxic toothpaste

as a self-care tool.

Welcome to Whole Self Unity where our goal is becoming whole together.
Easy to make toothpaste, something to add to your self-care toolbox.

Homemade Tooth Paste

In a jar combine:

  • 2 tbsp baking soda
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 10 drops essential oils of your choice is optional

Your choice of Essential Oils can be added, but are optional.

Warm the coconut oil until soft, which happens around 74-76 degrees, add the rest of the ingredients. Stir everything until smooth and is the consistency of a thick paste. Your toothpaste is ready to use, yes, it’s that simple.

There are several variations to this that I have tried. Once I didn’t have coconut oil and simply used baking soda, water, and a little sea salt. This would be great if you are allergic to coconut, or simply don’t have it.

Also, I prefer less salt, but you make it how you want to. Your turn to be creative and have fun with it.
