Curious about distance healing—but wondering what actually happens during a session? You’re not alone. Whether you’re considering your first distance healing session or already booked one, this guide will walk you through what to expect, how to prepare, and how to make the most of the experience.
In this post, we’ll walk you through the flow of a session, what you might feel, and how to prepare. Whether you’re just learning or already booked your first appointment, this guide will help you know what to expect.
1. Start Your Distance Healing Session with Intention
Every distance healing session begins with your intention. This might be something specific like, “I want to ease my anxiety,” or more open-ended like, “I just need support right now.”
Your intention acts like a compass. It gives the session direction and focus. When you set an intention and invite support, you’re not handing over your power—you’re engaging your body’s natural capacity for healing. It’s a mutual, respectful process.

Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. – Albert Einstein
Why does intention matter so much?
Because we’re all made of energy.
Modern science confirms that at a fundamental level, everything is energy in motion—including our thoughts, emotions, and bodies. As Einstein said, “Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it.” Distance healing works within this energetic framework: when you bring a clear intention, and I meet it with focused presence and trained awareness, meaningful shifts can occur—even across distance.
You don’t have to fully understand the science to benefit from it. Just like Wi-Fi or gravity, energy is real whether we see it or not.
Healing doesn’t always begin with a diagnosis—it often starts with a question.
2. Creating Space and Setting the Scene
Once we’ve established your intention, the session begins. You might be on the phone or video call, or we may agree to a specific time while you rest quietly at home.
Either way, you’ll take your time creating a calm, intentional space. Diffusing essential oils can help clear the air, and soft music can support relaxation. Keep a favorite blanket or pillow nearby. Our free **Session Prep & Integration Toolkit** has even more suggestions—and space to journal your experience.
As your practitioner, I then tune into the energetic patterns around your stated intention—nothing more, nothing less.
You are always in control, and your privacy is deeply respected.

3. What You Might Experience During Your Distance Healing Session
Every person experiences distance healing a little differently, but here are some common sensations:
-
A sense of warmth, calm, or lightness
-
Deep relaxation or sleepiness
-
Gentle energy waves or tingling
-
Emotions surfacing (like tears or laughter)
-
Memories, insights, or a sense of “knowing” something new
-
Or sometimes, just a quiet sense of peace
Even if you don’t feel anything during the session, many people notice shifts in the hours or days afterward. Subtle doesn’t mean ineffective—healing can unfold in powerful ways.
4. What the Practitioner is Doing
While you rest, I am fully focused on the intention you’ve set. Each session is guided by that intention—whether it’s clarity, release, calm, or support. I tune in to the energetic landscape surrounding it, allowing myself to listen deeply to what that situation or intention truly needs.
My role is to hold a safe, nonjudgmental, and compassionate space. From there, I work with focused presence and care, offering what is needed for the highest healing good of the intention—and for the highest good of all concerned. This might feel like a gentle unwinding, an energetic shift, or a sense of being deeply supported.

Healing often unfolds quietly–like light breaking through the trees.
I don’t diagnose, and I’m not reading your thoughts or peering into your private life. You’ve invited me in, through your intention, and I’m honoring that trust with professional ethics and respect. Our connection begins and ends within the sacred container of your session.
This work is subtle, but powerful. And always, your body and energy lead the way.
“The field is the sole governing agency of the particle.” — Albert Einstein
5. After Your Distance Healing Session
You may feel centered, lighter, or even a bit tired. This is normal. Your system has just done some deep internal work.
We always recommend:
-
Drinking water
-
Giving yourself time to reflect or rest
-
Journaling your impressions or shifts
-
Taking a gentle walk in nature, if possible
